SAS Installation guide

1. The SAS installation can be performed by downloading from this mentioned URL:
http://www.sas.com/en_us/software/university-edition.html
The following web page appears.

2. Verify that you have a compatible virtualization software package.

3. SAS University Edition is SAS version installed in a virtual machine, so you need virtualization software
to run it. Compatible virtualization software packages are listed in the table below

4. Download SAS University Edition.


Choose the appropriate download file for your virtualization software package. You will then be
prompted to:

5. To download SAS you will be prompted to create a profile for yourself.

6. Once the profile is created you will be asked to confirm the account by email verifying through the
e-mail you have registered.

7. Activate your account by clicking the link in the mail and giving a password.

8. After confirming and creating the password , you will receive a mail. Click on the link mentioned in
your e-mail for which will take you to the download page.

9. After confirming the account you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions applicable to the
product. So select accept to go further.

10. Now you will be prompted with confirmation of the order and its details.

11. Now you can click on the download button and the download will begin.

12. After completion of download extract the zip folder and you will find the installation procedure.

13. Now to launch SAS University Edition click on SAS-University-Edition.vmx as shown.

14. You will now see the vmware workstation opening that is running the SAS-University Edition. So
click on the green button to power on the virtual machine.

15. It will now run SAS on the virtual machine.

16. Now a screen will be displayed that shows an address that you need to ping on your web browser.
PLEASE DONT SHUTDOWN OR TURNOFF THE VMWARE MACHINE ONLY MINIMISE IT FOR YOUR USE.

17. After copying the address to the web browser the following page is displayed. So to begin with SAS
click on Start SAS Studio.

18. Now the SAS is available for use.
