1. What is the meaning of data? The characters, or symbols on which


operations are performed by a computer, which may be stored and
transferred in the form of electrical signals and recorded on magnetic,
optical, or mechanical recording media.
2. What type of data might you have used last week? Are used a lot of data
last week for example I listened to a lot of music and sent messages to my
friends or Kik and Messenger. Also used my email to keep up to date with
information on products on receiving them sending emails to reply of a
product and I used Skype to talk to my friends in America and people that I
cant normally talk to face to face.
3. How has that data been transferred from one device to another? Data
transmission is the physical transfer of data a digital bit stream or a
digitized analog signal over a point to point communication channel.
Examples of such channels are copper wires, optical fibres, wireless
communication channels
4. Explain the data protection act? The data protection act controls how your
personal information is used by organizations, businesses or the
government. Everyone is responsible for using data has to follow strict
rules called data protection principles.
