Dear Selection Committee:
Re: College Sector Educator Award Nominee Amy Abe
It is my great pleasure to nominate Amy Abe for the STLHE College Sector
Educator Award. Amy is an extraordinary teacher, a respected leader among
her colleagues, and a kind and generous person devoted to student success.
I have had the privilege of knowing Amy since she began her career at
NorQuest College in 2007. Over these seven years Amy has shown a
continuous commitment to meeting the institutional goals of our College
while employing her talents in the exceptional execution of her job.
She was recently nominated by her students and fellow instructors for the
Jaye Fredrickson Award for Teaching Excellence, the highest teaching award
offered at NorQuest College. The award honours an individual who engages
learners through exemplary facilitation and supports them through advocacy
and utilizes innovative approaches to education. It reflects someone who
develops learner-centered curriculum materials, employs authentic
evaluation, and demonstrates a commitment to scholarship. Amy embodies
the NorQuest College values of teaching excellence and I was pleased to
announce her as runner-up at our Faculty Jamboree event in November.
Tam delighted to nominate Amy for this award, but I am also grateful to
have her as a member of our faculty. I hope you honour her with this award
so she can serve as an inspiration to more Callege educators.
Sincerely,
esident Teaching and Learning &
Chief Academic Officer
