The MiG-21 was one of a long list of Mikoyan-Gurevich products to be integrated into the armed forces of the Soviet
Union, the Warsaw Pact, and allied client states. Its predecessors included such notable types as the MiG-15, MiG-17 and
the supersonic MiG-19.
The roots of this project reach back to the first half of the fifties. In 1954, the Ye-1 project came to an end, and was quickly
picked up by the Ye-2. Both had a swept wing. The first machine to feature the delta wing was the Ye-4, which first took to the
air on June 16th, 1955. It was also demonstrated a year later at the Moscow airfield Tushino.
The first of the new line to enter production was the MiG-21F, which together with the MiG-21P and F-13 represented the
first generation of the MiG-21, and was in production through the end of the fifties and the beginning of the sixties.
Subsequent versions included the PF, FL, PFM, R, the production of which peaked at the end of the sixties. The third
generation started production in 1968, which included such versions as M, SM, MF, SMT, bis among others.
Simultaneously, two-seat training versions were also produced designated MiG-21U, UM and US. Production of the
MiG-21 ended in 1985, and was put into service with some fifty nations.
Over the course of the cold war, the opponents of the MiG-21 included the likes of the Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter and
the Dassault Mirage III. NATO assigned it the reporting name Fishbed. It became the most produced supersonic fighter
in terms of quantity. The new machines came off Soviet production lines in Moscow, Gorky and Tbilisi. The MiG-21F-13 was
also built under license in Czechoslovakia and the MiG-21FL, M and bis in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. The Soviet
Union produced 10, 645 examples of all versions, 194 were built in Czechoslovakia and 657 in India. Outside of the Soviet
Union, the type flew with a long list of nations on all continents with the exception of Australia. The MiG-21 participated
in combat in Vietnam, the Indo-Pakistan wars, the Cuban participation in Angola and in the Arab worlds attempt to eliminate
Israel. Thanks to the high volume of use, the highest number of aces produced on the type was in Vietnam. The top of the
ladder is occupied by Nguyen Van Coc with nine kills.
The type serving as a fighter-bomber served with the Soviet Union and other nations of the Warsaw Pact into the
eighties, when it began to be displaced by the MiG-29 Fulcrum.
This kit allows you to build a model of twelwe existing MiG-21MFNs, the upgraded version of MiG-21MF. The
N signifies the upgrade of avionics to the NATO standard. It was powered by the Tumansky R-13-300 with afterburning
and carried RP-22SMA Saphir-21 radar. The armament was composed of GSh-23-2L 23mm cannon with 200 rounds. The
underwing pylons could carry a combination of FAB bombs up to 500kg in size, UB-16-57U rocket pods and R-3S, Kh-66
and R-60 missiles. Mostly two R-60MK (AA-8 Aphid) under innner pylons and external fuel tanks under outer pylons were
carried.

MiG-19.
Koeny vvoje letounu sahaj do prvn poloviny 50. let minulho stolet. V roce 1954 byl dokonen projekt Je-1, velmi
rychle nahrazen druhm prototypem Je-2. Oba mly pov kdlo. Prvnm strojem s delta kdlem byl prototyp Je-4, kter
se do vzduchu dostal poprv 16. ervna 1955. Pedstavil se tak na leteck pehldce, kter se konala o rok pozdji
na moskevskm letiti Tuino.
Jako prvn se do sriov vroby dostala verze MiG-21F, kter spolen s MiG-21P a MiG-21F-13 reprezentovala prvn
generaci tohoto typu, vyrbnou na pelomu 50. a 60. let minulho stolet. Nsledovaly dal, pokroilej verze PF, FL,
PFM, R, jejich produkce vyvrcholila ve druh polovin 60. let. Od roku 1968 probhala vroba tet generace, kter
zahrnovala napklad verze M, SM, MF, SMT, bis a dal.
Soubn se stavly tak dvoumstn cvin jednadvactky MiG-21U, UM a US.
Vroba MiG-21 skonila v roce 1985 a do vzbroje je zaadilo okolo 50 zem svta.
MiG-21 ml bhem studen vlky sv protjky v typech Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter i Dassault Mirage III. Vojska
NATO dalo typu kdov oznaen Fishbed. Stal se v nejvtch potech vyrbnm nadzvukovm letounem. Nov stroje
v Sovtskm svazu sjdly z tovrnch linek v Moskv, Gorkm a Tbilisi. V licenci se stavla verze MiG-21F-13
v eskoslovensku a MiG-21FL, M a bis v Indii u Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. V Sovtskm svazu vzniklo 10 645 exempl
vech verz, v eskoslovensku 194 kus a v Indii 657 stroj.
Krom ozbrojench sil Sovtskho svazu ltal s ad zem, s vjimkou Austrlie na vech kontinentech. Zastnil
se ady vlench konflikt, vetn vlky ve Vietnamu, indicko-pkistnskch potyek, kubnskho taen v Angole
i arabsk snahy o znien Izraele. Dky nejvtmu zapojen do bojovch akc se nejvt poet sthacch es zrodil
ve Vietnamu. Na ele ebku stoj Nguyen Van Coc s devti sestely.
V roli pepadovho sthacho letounu slouily MiGy-21 v Sovtskm svazu a dalch zemch Varavsk smlouvy
a do 80. let, kdy jej jako plnohodnotn nhrada zaaly z prvoliniov sluby vytlaovat nov MiGy-29 Fulcrum.
Z tto stavebnice lze postavit dva z dvancti existujcch letoun MiG-21MFN. Jednalo se o MiGy-21MF, jejich avionika
byla upgradovna na standardy NATO. Letoun pohnl motor Tumanskij R-13-300 s pdavnm spalovnm a nesl radar
RP-22SMA Safr-21. Vzbroj tvoil kanon G-23-2L re 23 mm se zsobou 200 ran. Na zvsnky bylo mon podvsit
kombinaci pum FAB a d re 500 kg, raketnic UB-16-57U a raket R-3S, Ch-66 a R-60. V praxi nejastji ltaly s dvojic

This aircraft was on of ten chosen for upgrade to MFN standard in 1999 - 2000. It was accepted by the Czechoslovak Air Force on July 2nd, 1975. It began service with
the 1st slp, and later served with the 9th slp, 9th sbolp, 82nd sslt (Independent Fighter Squadron) and by 1993 was based at Pilsen-Line. In 1999, it was upgraded to MFN
standard. The striking Tiger motivs were added in October, 2002 on the occasion of celebrating 45 years of Caslav Air Base. The fuselage bears the inscription of the
22nd slp in honor of that units stationing there in the fifties. The aircraft was retired at the end of May, 2005.
Tento stroj patil do skupiny deseti MiG-21, kter byly v letech 1999 a 2000 upraveny na verzi MFN. Do bvalho eskoslovenska byl dodn 2. ervence 1975. Svou
slubu zapoal u 1. slp, pot ltal u 4. slp, 9. slp, 9. sbolp, 82. sslt (samostatn sthac letka) a v roce 1993 byl uskladnn na letiti Plze-Ln. V roce 1999 proel
modernizac na standard MFN. Pestr zbarven tygmi doplky dostal v jnu 2002 pi pleitosti oslav 45. vro od vzniku leteck zkladny slav. Na trupu najdete
npis 22. slp na poest tvaru, kter v slavi psobil v 50. letech. Definitivn vyazen letounu ze stavu vojenskho letectva pilo na konci kvtna 2005.

This MiG was manufactured as MiG-21MF c/n 96005581 by Gorky factory on August 1, 1975. From August 17, 1975 was flown by 1st Fighter Regiment in Ceske Budjovice.
In May, 1989 was overhanded to 8th Fighter Regiment and found its home in Brno. The 8th FR was disbanded on May 1, 1991 and the new operator of this aircraft became 82nd
Independent Fighter Squadron based in Mosnov air base. In August 1993 the aircraft was put of the service and stored at Line airfield. It returned to the service in 2000 when Letecke
opravny Kbely upgraded it to the MFn standard. The new operator was 41st Squadron in Caslav air base (known under new designation as 211th Squadron). The tiger colors were
painted during International Koksijde Airshow in June, 2000. This aircraft took part in the last flight mission of Czech MiG-21s on July 12, 2005. During this accasion the cyrilics
Spasilo (thanks) appeared on the nose and rudder.
MiG-21MF byl vyroben 1. srpna 1975 pod vrobnm slem 96005581 v Gorkm. Od 17. z 1975 slouil u 1. sthac leteckho pluku v eskch Budjovicch. V kvtnu 1989
pedn 8. sthacmu leteckmu pluku do Brna. Po rozdlen tvaru k 1. kvtnu 1991 peel k 82. samostatn sthac letce v Monov. V z 1993 ukonen provoz tohoto letounu
a letoun byl uloen na letiti v Lnch. V roce 2000 byl v Leteckch opravnch Kbely pestavn na verzi MFN a znovu uveden do provozu u 41. letky v slavi (pozdji pejmenovan
na 211.letku letku). U pleitosti International Koksijde Airshow dostal v ervnu 2000 tyg doplky. Tento letoun se zastnil i posledn letov akce MiG-21 v esk republice dne
12. ervence 2005 a nslednho skupinovho peletu k vyazen do Perova. Pi tto pleitosti se na stroji objevily npisy v azbuce "SPASIBO" - dkuji.
