Procedures
EnteringLockerRoom.Studentsshouldwalkintothelocker
roominacalmandcontrolledmanner.Food,drink(exceptfor
water),andgumarenotpermittedinthelockerroom,gym,weight
room,oranyotheractivityarea.Foodbroughtintothelockerroom
willbetakenanddisposedof.Studentsareexpectedtobeseated
infrontoftheirlockerswhenthebellrings.Studentswhoare
notseatedwillbesenttosweeps.
ClassRoomWhiteBoard.Whenstudentsenterthelockerroom,
theyshouldimmediatelyconsulttheClassroomWhiteBoardfor
writteninstructionsrelatedtoanyprocedurestheywillneedto
follow(forexample,proceeddirectlytogymforrollcallwithout
dressingout)oranyitems(forexample,bringpenciltoclass)
theymayneedtobringtoclass.
LockerSecurity.Studentsmustusetheirdesignatedlockersand
locks.Longlockersmaybeusedduringtheclassperiodonly.
Itemsleftinthelonglockersaftertheclassperiodwillbe
removed.Lockersmustbelockedbeforeleavingthelockerroom.
Studentswishingtoreenterthelockerroomafterclasshasbegun,
mustreceiveinstructorpermission.
BathroomUsageandDrinks.Studentsareexpectedtousethe
bathroomandgetdrinkseitherbeforeorafterclass.Forsafety
andsecurityreasons,studentsmustreceiveinstructorpermission
andcarryabathroompassordrinkpasstousethefacilities
duringclass.Onlyonestudentatatimewillbepermittedtousethe

bathroomorgetadrink.
ChangingClothes.Toallowallstudentssufficienttimetousethe
bathroomfacilities,studentsshouldnotchangetheirclothesinthe
bathroomstalls.Studentswishingadditionalprivacywhile
changingclothesmayusetheshowerstallsoneithersideofthe
lockerroom.
Harassment(Sexual,Verbal,Physical).Harassmentand/or
threateningbehaviorofanytypewillnotbetolerated.
DressingOut.Dressingoutisdefinedasdressingina
completeuniform(shorts,tshirt,socks,gymshoes).Students
whodonotdressoutwillsitintimeoutforthedurationofclass.
Studentswilllose5ofthe10weeklyparticipationpointsforeach
nondress.Studentswith5nondresseswilllosecreditforthe
class.

EndofClass.Theteacherwillsignaltheendofclasseachdayand

givestudentspermissiontoreenterthelockerroomforchanging
clothes.Oncethestudentshavechangedintotheirschoolclothes,
theymaywaitquietlyinsidethelockerroominfrontofthelockers
untilthedismissalbellhasrung.
Questions.Studentsshouldavoidshoutingoutanswersand
questionsduringclassunlessotherwisedirectedtodosobythe
teacher.Questionsandcommentsshouldbemadeinapolite
manner(forexample:MayIpleaseborrowshoes?notIneed
shoes.).Loudlymakingnegativecommentstowardstheclass,
activity,students,orinstructorisconsideredVerbalHarassment
andwillnotbetolerated.Polite,constructivecommentsarealways
welcome!
Announcements.Studentsmustremainsilentwheneverschool

wideannouncements(3 period)arebeingmade.
Lockerroomcleanliness.Studentsareexpectedtoleavethe
lockerroomingoodorder.Anytagging,writingonwalls,benches,
etc.,isdefacingschoolpropertyandissubjecttoafivedayoff
campussuspension.
Absences.Whenastudentisabsent,shewillreceivezero(0)
participationpointsforthatday.Studentsmayearnback
participationpointsforextendedabsencesduetoillness.
Studentsareresponsibleforalltestsandmaterialcoveredduring
anabsence.Makeupworkisduewithin5daysofthestudents
return.
Participation.Studentsareexpectedtoparticipateenthusiastically
andenergeticallyinthedesignatedactivitieseachclassperiod.
Studentswhodonotparticipatewillbesenttotimeoutuntil
theyarereadytorejointheactivity.Failuretorejointheclassina
timelymannerorarepeatoffenseduringanyweekwillresultin

thelossof5ofthe10weeklyparticipationpointsandmayresultin
furtherdisciplinaryaction.
Equipment.StudentsarenotpermittedtotouchanyofthePE
equipmentunlessdirectedtodosobytheteacher.Studentswillbe
givenspecificinstructionsforpickingupandreturningequipment
usedduringtheclassperiod.Anystudentusingequipmentinan
inappropriatemannerwillberesponsibleforthecostofreplacing
anyequipmentthatisdamagedthroughtheirmisuseandmaybe
subjecttofurtherdiscipline.
MedicalExcuses.Allmedicalexcusesandnotesfromhomemust
bepresentedtotheNursebeforeschoolbeginsinthemorning.
IftheNursedeterminesthatthestudentsconditionwarrantsit,she
willprovideanexcusenoteforthestudenttobringtoclass.
Studentsarestillexpectedtodressouteveniftheyareexcused
fromactivity.StudentswillNOTbegivenapasstoseethenurse
afterclasshasbegun(unlessaninjuryhasbeensustainedduring
class).Studentsshouldreportanyandallinjuriestotheteacherat
thetimeoftheinjury.
HairandJewelry.Hairstylesandjewelrythatcauseadistraction
orcreateasafetyhazardarenotpermittedinclass.Personal
groomingshouldtakeplaceinthelockerroombeforeorafter
class.

ElectronicDevices.Electronicdevices(cellphones,CDplayers,
Ipods,etc.)arenotpermittedinthelockerroom,bathroom,field,
gym,oranyotheractivityarearegardlessofwhetherornotthey
areinuse.Ifelectronicdevicesaredetected,theywillbe

confiscatedandturnedintotheDeanofStudents.

GradingPolicy
Thestudentsgradeisbasedonapercentageofthetotalpoints
givenduringthatgradingperiod.Itwillconsistofbothaskills&
knowledgecomponentandaparticipationcomponent.

Skills&Knowledgegradesarebasedon,quizzes,tests,
worksheets,andskillchecklists.

Participationgrades.Eachdaythestudentparticipateswithenergy
andenthusiasminthedesignatedclassroomactivityshereceives
100%(2points/day)forthatdaysparticipationgrade.Students
whoareswept,choosenottoparticipate,orarenotdressedout
willlose5ofthe10weeklyparticipation.ExtraCreditwillbe
givenfortryingoutorplayingonaschoolorcommunitysports
team.
