Courtney Elders was a student teacher in my first grade class for fourteen weeks.
Courtney was responsible for teaching reading, language arts, math, social studies and
science.
Ms. Elders had the experience of teaching a 3 day math unit, a 5 day literacy unit, and 5
consecutive days of teaching. She was responsible for teaching a total of 20 days which
included her literacy and math unit. During this time she planned and implemented the
pre and post assessments and all classwork. Courtney successfully demonstrated her
awareness of different learning styles and adequately adjusted assignments to meet the
varied needs of students. Her units were thoroughly prepared and implemented. She
was successful in monitoring and adjusting to various schedule changes in order to
complete it during her time of teaching.
Courtney always possessed a positive personality. She had a great rapport with the
students she worked with. She was well dressed, articulate, and professional.
I am confident that Ms. Elders will be an asset to any staff that she works with. She is
confident and knowledgeable.I believe that she will continue to grow and become even
