Number of Safety concerns were raised by the Community in the last meeting. Here is the Committee observations:
Although the building location is not in the ideal part of Macon, the building is:

1. Well secured, with barbed tall fence through out the building.
2. Located right on the main Eisenhower Road, no inner roads.
3. At the back, outside the fence, there is a hill and fenced school on the other side. One side has an abandoned
building.
4. There is No Walking traffic, as there is no residential neighbors.
5. Would still require diligence from all community members, because of the area.

Committee Recommendations

Price of property - Reasonable based on the size of the property.

Repair cost Reasonable based on the current condition and total cost.
Safety Manageable. Community members have to be very diligent.
Community Involvement Community members should be involved, as the process proceeds.
Our committee recommends creating separate committees involving community members
(finance, fund-raising, maintenance, operational, Sunday school, etc.). This will help the
community with the sense of ownership and unity.
Operational cost The operational costs will increase significantly because of the size of the
property. Here are a couple of proposed recommendations:
Utilize only a portion of the building for the near future. As the community grows, gradually open up other portions.
This would help manage operational and maintenance costs.
Make the new proposed location a Community Center. Utilize it for Jumma, Eid, Ramazan and Sunday School. Make the
halls available for community events (graduations, marriages, birthdays, community events. Have daily prayers at the
current location (average of 8-9 people show up for prayers on daily basis). Safety Manageable. Community members
have to be very diligent.

The Committee, in good faith, recommends management to proceed

with the purchase of the new proposed location of the Islamic Center
of Macon.
