This portion of the wall sustained heavy impact load (tree fall) and has visible shear cracks

above mid height. It has also leaned slightly outwards. This wall needs to be replaced.
- Wall along grid G between grid 2&3
This portion of the wall also sustained heavy impact (tree fall) and has cracked at upper
portions. Shear cracks indicate the wall has failed at beam connection. This wall need to
be replaced.
- Wall along grid B between grid 3&5
This wall has visible horizontal & vertical hairline cracks along the block joints. This is
probably due to thermal and moisture changes. This is repairable using suitable grout.
There are also slim shear cracks on the left side of the wall. The crack width is not
substantial and thus, can be also remedied by epoxy grouting.
Windows

All window frames are out of timber and are in good condition except rear living room
window, W4. The vertical members of the window show signs of shear cracks and need to
be replaced.
Mosquito frames are in good condition while, screen cover are all damaged.
Window shutters are missing.

Door

All Internal doors are damaged.


All Exterior door frames are in good condition but require new fixed glass.
Screen doors are also in good condition while, screen cover are all damaged.

Roof
Beam

Roof beam is build out of 2no. 150mm bond blocks reinforcement with 2-D12 and R6 ties.
This construction is NOT acceptable standard. Fiji Building manual, table C3.6A
recommends beams for earthquake zone 4, design wind speed of 70-74 m/s and span 4m
to be reinforced with 2-D16 instead. However, it is functioning and in good condition
except portions sustaining heavy load impact. With reference to existing floor plan
annexed herein,
- Roof beam along grid C&G between grid 2&3
These beams has cracked at parts while supporting the heavy impact. These two beams
need to be replaced.

Roof Truss

Truss is build out of 150x50 Top chord, 100x50 web members and 2no. 100x50 bottom
chord with all joints bolted using 1-D12. Top chord is connected at apex using 2no. 150x50
collar tie and 1-D12 at each ends. Truss tie down onto beam using 1-D12 anchor rods via
Purlin at 1000crs is NOT an acceptable tie down standard.
There are 17 bays out which;
- 3 bays are in good condition
- 3 additional bays require bottom chord replaced
