What units do we use to measure light?

We measure light through LUX

What is that unit actually measuring? What does it tell us about light?
LUX is the SI unit of illuminance and luminous emittance measuring luminous flux
per unit area. (Fluctuations of the light)

How can we know if our light measuring tool is telling us the truth?
We dont unless we can control the amount of photons that are released and the
fluctuations between each proton released. By using different tools and comparing
the results.

Who does this matter to?

Physicists, Biologists, Architects, Photographers and OHS people.
