IMPORTANT UPDATES to Oetiker ELK 02 Pneumatic Pincer Controller

Dear Valued Customer,

As a result of escalating customer demands and our ongoing efforts to improve product quality, we
are offering an update to improve the productivity and user-friendliness of ELK 02 V1.x.
Benefits include:

Improved interface and functionality to better prevent operator errors

o

System alert that clamp closure has been performed in Pincer-test mode in the event
of inadvertent switch from Work mode to pincer-test mode.

ELK power up in Pincer-test mode as a default setting to prevent inadvertent system

use without completion of the prerequisite pincer test.

Performance improvement
o

New optional setting to energize ELK directly in Work mode in the event customerspecific workflows do not permit immediate pincer test completion at power up.

Configurable maintenance cycle reminder to suit customer-specific environment.

Enhanced and optimized functionality

o

Incorporation of pincer data sets for the newest product generations (292 & 293).

Improved USB data-transfer capability and display stability.

Based on these improvements we highly recommend updating all your ELK 02 equipment at nocharge. Additionally, effective immediately, any ELK 02 units delivered to you will be preloaded with
updated V1.05 Firmware and Software. Like past versions, V1.05 is not forward / backward
compatible with prior versions.
