The passing of time and fewer instruments in the field has resulted in a continual reduction in the number of repair parts available and increased costs for many of these specialized parts. As technology continues to advance rapidly in the industry, itis becoming increasingly dificult for Atlas to secure the existing parts and components for these legacy instruments. As a result, repair and replacement items used in the Ci35/65 (including “A” series) instruments will be officially discontinued effective January 1, 2016. ‘We will continue to support these units with our best effort and anticipate the abilty to provide general preventive maintenance and calibration services as well as consumables such as lamps and filters for the foreseeable future. However, the price and availabilty of items for this generation of instruments can no longer be guaranteed. Atlas will be communicating this information to current users via email providing them with the attached letter. To assist you in your sales efforts, please present this letter as you work with your customers to budgel/purchase replacement instruments. This is the capex budget season for most companies, so please work quickly to avoid missing this budget window. As the letter states, Atlas will offer a Trade Up Program, providing incentives to replace these legacy instruments with current Ci instruments. The one change to this Trade Up Program from past programs is that Atlas will require the customer to decommission and return the old Ci35/65 Units to Atlas. Atlas will pay for disposal/shipping of these old units.
