Dear Director of Personnel:
I am writing in regards to the internship position your company is offering to college students. I am
currently a Mechanical Engineering student at a prestigious American university -Texas A&M
University-with a passion for the Prancing Horse since the age of 10 years old. I am currently a
sophomore whose GPA, extracurricular, work experience, and skill set are in good standing and on the
rise. My technical knowledge is reflected by my academic performance and work experience while my
refusal to settle for anything short than what I dream of is evidence of my Pursuit of Excellence, as
Ferrari puts it.
Ferrari is a company that values excellence, so it is always looking for ambitious people, be they career
starters or experiences profiles, who can help it innovate, and who are passionate about Ferrari and
automotive excellence. The statement which spoke to me as soon as I was done reading halfway through
it.
Having been born in Qatar to a Pakistani family, I was plainly ignored or given a disdain smile when
people would listen to my answer to the age-old question of what do you want to become when you grow
up? This was because I had not been born to a rich family, and on top of that I was raised in a country that
favored its own rather than talent or hard work. Thus people all around me used to, and still do, tell me
that I should now stop dreaming and focus on a more feasible or sensible plan for the future.
However, what these people do not know about me is how motivated I am when it comes to my dream of
building the heart/the core/the soul/the engine of a beautifully crafted Ferrari. Most kids stop dreaming
once they get the horrific glimpse of the real world, not me. I have wanted to become a part of your
company for as long as I can remember. This undying desire to work for Ferrari in itself proves that I can,
and I am, extremely motivated.
I would like to thank you for taking your time in reviewing my application, and I hope you will consider
me as a worthy candidate for an internship. Fueled by my desire to be part of the production of machines
that are out of this world, my thirst to gain knowledge, and my work ethic, I hope to be more than just
part of the company, I aspire to bring about innovation to an already innovative institution.
Sincerely,
Omar Mohammad Ijaz
