RE: Operation C.A.R.E. (Community Awareness Rejuvenation Effort)

On Wednesday, June 2, 2010, the Medford Police Department will organize an effort in your neighborhood to
hear questions & concerns from residents regarding livability and other issues affecting their neighborhood.
The Medford Police Department will be requesting the assistance in this project from other city departments
including Parks/Recreation & Public Works, along with city council members and administration from a local
elementary & middle school.

We anticipate approximately 25 individuals will conduct a walking canvas of the neighborhood in order to
attempt to determine the needs of this area as they relate to social services (emergency food, energy, etc.),
public safety/law enforcement (drug houses, wanted persons, gang activity, etc.), and code enforcement
(blight homes/properties, health/safety, etc.).

During the course of this project the Medford Police Department will provide residents with available social
service/emergency service information, anonymous MPD Tip Line information, Neighborhood Watch
information, and available youth services.

An integral part of this task consists of survey questions which will aid us in providing a direct bearing on how
effective we are with these efforts. We ask that you complete the enclosed survey form which we will then
pick-up from you at your residence during this neighborhood contact between 5:30-7:30p.m.
