HOW TO FIT THE PROGRAMME INTO A SCHOOL YEAR?

The program has four levels which can be completed during senior phase to Grade
12. The Accounting educators can choose when to teach or train the learners
depending on the availability of the computers and the installations of the program.
It is advisable to end this program in Grade 11 because Grade 12 is a very busy
Grade as they are writing external exam. We will also focus on the business of the
sole trader throughout the program. A break down is as follows:

LEVEL 1 (ONE): COSTAL GARDEN SERVICES

Explore the program to obtain the basic skills.


Process cheque payments.
View the current account in the general ledger.
Process a Trial Balance.

LEVEL 2 (TWO): JABU’S SPORT SHOP

Let us explore the program to obtain the basic skills.


Navigate the case study of Jabu’s Sport shop that has been set up.
Process cash entries.
View the General Ledger account.
Trial Balance.
Bank Reconciliation Statement- although Bank Reconciliation is only covered in
Grade 11 (as per the new Curriculum Statement), this will serve as a good
introduction and is not too difficult for Grade 10.
Petty Cash.
Loan Management.

LEVEL 3 (THREE): WANDI’S BOTIQUE SHOP

Introduce VAT.
Process a VAT return.
Introduce credit buying and selling- debtors and creditors.
Processing involving cash and credit transactions.
Statements
Create a new debtor and item of stock.
Change the selling price of an existing item of stock.
Debtors and Creditors Age Analysis.
Letters to debtors.
Repeat invoices.
LEVEL 4 (FOUR): KATE BOOK SHOP

Trading stock deficit.


General Journal.
Wages and salaries.
Financial year end.
Fixed Asset Register.
Depreciation
Setting up new company.
