meet the Fellows


Ariel earned his bachelors degree in Hebrew
Literature and Jewish studies and a Masters
in Hebrew Studies at Hebrew University. He
also founded the student newspaper, Dor
Gimmel. Now married with one daughter,
Ariel is currently teaching in schools
and completing his dissertation for the
Department of Hebrew Literature at Hebrew
University.
Venture: Jerusalem houses many study
centers, however, there is still no real option
for young people who are looking for a
secular Jewish learning space. The Jerusalem
Secular Yeshiva will provide young couples,
and army and university graduates with
an educational framework that includes
lodging, classes, and volunteering.

We believe that social involvement is the key to
helping the Jewish community grow stronger
and more vibrant. Tonight, the journey that
began six months ago at the start of the
PresenTense Winter Institute will culminate
secular yeshiva | in Launch Night, and the Jewish Community
will gain nine innovative and passionate
. , community leaders who will contribute to
this process. These nine entrepreneurs were
, chosen through a rigorous selection process
because we truly believe that they have the
qualities necessary to promote changes
in Israeli society and the broader Jewish

community, changes which will be reflected in
. ,
their projects displayed this evening at Launch
Night. We greatly value the partnerships that
. have formed between PresenTense and each
of the Fellows and hope that they will use the
: knowledge and tools acquired during the
, Winter Institute to help their ventures succeed.
