“The Belgian Senate, in December 2005, and
the Chamber, in April 2006, unanimously
adopted two resolutions on the situation of the
human rights and the role of the opposition.
They called on the Belgian Government and
the European Union to revise the inclusion
of the PMOI on the terrorist list.
“On 12 December 2006, the Court of
First Instance of European Communities in
Luxembourg annulled the Council Decision
to put the PMOI in EU terrorist list.
“TheBelgiansenatorsconcluded:Wecallupon
the Belgian government and the Council of
the European Union to immediately remove
the PMOI from the EU terrorist list. This has
proven to be a necessity for respect of human
rights and for a change in Iran.”

The report citing the defiance of the
Security Council resolutions by Iranian regime
further added, “Contrary to the decisions of
the Security Council, Iran has not suspended
its enrichment related activities, having
continued the operation of PFEP and FEP
and the installation of both new cascades
and of new generation centrifuges for test
purposes. Iran has also continued with the
construction of the IR–40 reactor.”
The IAEA’s report sheds light on some
aspects of the Iranian regime’s breaches of the
law and clearly reveals the regime’s ominous
intention of obtaining nuclear weapons.
While the clerical regime is actively and
with all available means violating the UN
Security Council resolutions, the imposition
of comprehensive military, technological,
diplomatic, and oil sanctions by the UN
Security Council is more important than
ever before. Any delays or pinning hope on
possible negotiations with the regime would
only provide time to the mullahs and take the
region as well as the international community
a step closer to the war.

Italy: Ahmadinejad is persona non-grata
The presence of mullahs’ president Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad at a UN food summit in Rome
sparked international condemnation and
protests in Italy.
Protests in Rome were organized by political
groups, politicians, activists and supporters of
the Iranian Resistance.
Ahmadinejad’s presence at the summit
“addressing the tragedy of hunger in the world
symbolizes the devastating contradiction
between the violence of totalitarian governments
and their demagogic statements,” demonstration
organizers said in a statement.
“For nearly 30 years, the rulers in Tehran
have negated the rights of religious and ethnic
minorities, women, student associations and
anyone who does not agree with the regime’s
policies,” the statement added.
The Iranian Resistance which opposed the
visit right from the beginning also welcomed the
decision by Pope Benedict XVI and the Prime
Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi, not to meet
with the mullahs’ president. The statement
reiterated “Ahmadinejad is a war criminal and
he should be put on trial for his crimes against
humanity.”
On Monday, June 2, it was reported that
the name of Ahmadinejad was scraped from the
list of guests to a reception hosted by the Italian
Prime Minister and the UN Secretary General
Ban Ki-moon.
In a television interview on Saturday, prior
to Ahmadinejad’s trip to Italy, Mr. Franco
Frattini, the Italian Foreign Minister, said that
there were many reasons not to meet with
Ahmadinejad. His remarks were followed later
by a comment by the Vice-chair of the Italian
Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mrs.
Fiamma Nirenstein. While expressing her dislike
at the regime, she said that it posed a threat to
the international community and support to the
opponents of the regime was on the parliament’s
agenda. Mrs. Nirenstein made it clear that the
regime’s bid to acquire nuclear weapons was
not the only reason for European’s hatred towards
Ahmadinejad and rejected any talks with a man
who only believes in violence. She admitted to
the failure of current international sanctions and
said that Italy would soon adopt more decisive
measures against the regime. She added that in
view of human rights violations in Iran, pressures
on the regime should increase.
Mrs. Stefania Craxi, deputy Foreign Minister,
also called for further sanctions and firm policies
on the regime. She criticized western policy on the
regime and said she believed that the only solution
to the problem in Iran was through support for the
opponents of the regime.
In protest to Ahmadinejad’s trip to Italy,
a press conference was initiated by the Iranian
Resistance in Rome. The conference was attended
by Italian political and human rights figures as well
as members of the Parliament. They called for a
firm policy against the clerical dictatorship and its
rejection by the international community.
As the first speaker, Mr. Antonio Stango,
General Secretary of the Italian Helsinki Watch
and a leading figure in the Italian Radical Party,
welcomed the decision by the Italian Prime
Minister and the Foreign Minister as well as the
Pope not to meet Ahmadinejad and declared the
support of MPs from his party to the conference.
NCRI representative in Italy, Mr. Abulqassem
Rezai, deplored Ahmajdinejad’s presence at the
FAO conference and quoted Mrs. Maryam Rajavi,
saying that the regime has no capacity for change or
retreat and the only solution to the problem in Iran
was democratic change through Iranian people and
their organized resistance.
Other speakers in the conference included Mr.
Alessandro Forlani, former MP from Christian
Democratic Party; Mr. Mario Lana, President of
the Italian Lawyers Union in Defense of Human
Rights; Mr. Gustavo Selva former senator; Mr.
Aldo Forbice, radio program producer; Mr. Aurelio
Salvatore Misiti, MP from Party of Italian Values;
and members of the NCRI delegation; Mr. Reza
Olia, Iranian artist, and Ms. Fereshteh Karimi.

War crime against “Protected Persons under the Fourth Geneva
Convention” in Iraqi territory
Calls on UN Security Council, Multinational Force-Iraq and the Iraqi government to
adopt punitive measures and evict the Iranian regime from Iraq
On Monday, May 26, at 16:23 local time, the
mullahs’ regime, in a clear act of war, attacked
Ashraf City, in northeast Iraq, using Grad missiles.
The missiles were engraved with Persian date of
manufacture, “24-5-1384” which corresponds to
August 15, 2005. No injuries were reported.
The criminal attack occurred three weeks after
the definitive judgment of the UK Court of Appeal
to remove the PMOI from the terrorist list. The
Mullahs’ hysteric reaction to this ruling continues
unabated with the regime’s leaders reacting
furiously.
Following the regime’s failure to prevent the
annulment of the terror label, the mullahs’ regime
ordered its embassy in Baghdad to plan attacks
against the residents of Ashraf as a priority.
Any assault on residents of Ashraf who are all
“protected persons” under the “Fourth Geneva
Convention” is a clear violation of international
law, International Humanitarian Law, and Geneva
Conventions. This attack is clearly a war crime.
The People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran
calls upon the UN Security Council, International
Committee of Red Cross, United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees, Multinational Force-
Iraq and the Iraqi Government to condemn the
Iranian regime’s war crimes in Iraqi territory against
protected persons, and to adopt punitive measures
against the religious fascism ruling Iran and to evict
the Iranian regime from Iraq.
The Iranian Resistance calls for expulsion of
mullahs’ ambassador to Baghdad, Kazemi Qomi,
a commander of the terrorist Qods Force, and
closure of the Mullahs’ embassy in Baghdad which
serves as a base for terrorism and espionage. The
embassy is the main center for insecurity and
instability in Iraq.
Mrs. Maryam Rajvi, President-elect of the
Iranian Resistance, described the missile attack
on Ashraf city an act of war on behalf of the
mullahs’ regime and a “war crime” committed
against “declared protected persons according to
Geneva Conventions.” She said, “The theocratic
regime ruling Iran has resorted to this crime after
a humiliating failure in preventing the annulment
of the terrorist label and the ruling of the British
Court of Appeal in order to export its internal
crises.”
The assault took place despite the fact that
Ashraf residents have had no weapons for the
past 5 years and have not engaged in any military
operations and their protection has been the
responsibility of the coalition forces.

Coordination Committee
for Iraqi Nationalist Forces
comprised of the National
Accord Front chaired by Dr.
Ayad Alawi, former Iraqi Prime Minister; The
Congress of Iraqi People, chaired by Dr. Adnan
Duleimi; the Iraqi National Dialogue Front,
chaired by Dr. Saleh Mutlak; and the Council for
Iraqi National Dialogue, chaired by Sheikh Khalaf
Al-Elyan, strongly condemned the attack on Ashraf.
The statement considered the attack as an open act
of aggression violating the sovereignty of Iraq and
the international laws. They reiterated that time has
come to put an end to the Iranian regime’s presence
in Iraq and its meddling in that country.
INSIDE IRAN
Sugar cane factory strike
Chanting slogans against factory’s management,
Sugar cane Factory workers in Haft-Tapeh
gathered in the industrial complex on June 2,
their 28th day of strike.
They shouted, “Workers will die but will
not give in to humiliation,” “Our monthly
salary is our inalienable right” and “Job and life
are our inalienable rights.” Several thousands
of protesting workers marched toward the
building of the factory’s management.
3,000 brick workers on strike
More than 3,000 workers at Qarchak Brick
Factory in Varamin, central Iran, have been on
strike for the past 26 days.
Thousands of women, men and children
working in the factory demand rise in their
wage from about $12.5 to $15 for every 1,000
brick they produce.
The deprived workers in this factory work
for 17 hours a day.
Workers in dozens of other factories and
workshops are currently on strike across Iran.

Iranian made Grad missile landed in Ashraf City
Among many others in Iraq, at least 12
members of parliament from four different groups
condemned the attack.
Dozens of political and human rights groups
and personalities in Europe, North America
and Australia condemned the attack and called
for immediate action to stop Iranian regime’s
aggression. Hundreds of Iranians across the world
held demonstrations against the regime and called
on international competent bodies to intervene
and stop mullahs’ terrorist aggressions.
Juvenile offenders face death
Three young men identified as Behrooz
(Behnood) Shojaee, Mohammad Fadaei and
Saeed Jazee are facing gallows soon. All three were
under 18 at the time of the alleged crimes. The
mullahs’ judiciary has already announced the
scheduled time for their hangings to be: June 3,
11 and 25 respectively.
There are at least 75 juveniles on death row
in Iran, according to international human rights
organizations.
In its latest statement on June 4, the Slovenian
Presidency of the EU said, “These juvenile death
sentences are in direct contravention of the
Islamic Republic of Iran’s international obligations
and commitments, specifically as set out in the
International Covenant on Civil and Political
Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the
Child, both clearly prohibiting the execution
of minors or people who have been convicted
of crimes committed when they were minors.
These international legal obligations have been
freely entered into by the Islamic Republic of
Iran and must be fully respected by the Iranian
authorities.”

EU Presidency urged to remove PMOI from terror list

at the European Parliament (FOFI), British
Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom
(BPCIF) and French Committee for a democratic
Iran (CFID), a conference was held at the
European Parliament on May 28. The conference
was attended by some 100 Euro MPs, members
of both Houses of Parliament in Britain and
dignitaries from other countries primarily from
Europe.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Alejo
Vidal-Quadras, Vice-President of the European
Parliament. The keynote speaker was Mrs.
Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National
Council or Resistance of Iran.
A number of British parliamentarians from
all major political parties including Lord Russell-the ruling of the UK Court of Appeal, in a joint

Mrs. Rajavi was welcomed to the European
Parliament by two EP Vice-Presidents Mr. Alejo
Vidal Quadras from the EPP-ED group and Mr.
Manuel Antonio dos Santos from the Socialist
group and scores of other MEPs.

Mrs. Rajavi upon her arrival at the European
Parliament.

said, “We are convinced, Mrs. President, that your
struggle is as much important for us in Europe,
in the western world, as it is
important of course for Iranians,
because the regime that presently
threat for peace, stability and
security not only in the Middle
East, but for the whole world.” He
added, “Supporting democratic
change in Iran is the only solution
to the crisis the world is facing with regards to the
Iranian regime’s quest for nuclear weapons and its
meddling in neighbouring countries, in Iraq, in
Lebanon and in Palestine.”
He emphasized, “Maintaining the PMOI
in the European Union’s terror list is unlawful. I
therefore call on the EU Presidency to act according
to the courts judgments, to do it immediately and
respect the rule of law. I urge the EU Presidency to
be consistent with its responsibilities in upholding
the rule of law in Europe.”
He then invited Mrs. Rajavi to deliver her
speech. She began her remarks by addressing the
EU and said, “I call upon the EU presidency to
publicly announce that PMOI is no longer on the
EU terror list and to include the delisting of the
PMOI on the agenda of the next meeting of the
Council of Ministers.”
She reiterated, “The mullahs’ angry reaction
to the judgment of the UK Court of Appeal shows
their fear of the Resistance. Change in Iran is in
reach but only through the Iranian people and the
Resistance.”
The Iranian Resistance’s President-elect then
outlined her expectations and declared:
- The European Union must respect the rule of
law. It must remove the PMOI from the terrorist
list immediately. It must alleviate restrictions and
damages imposed on the PMOI,
- The European Union must recognize the Iranian
Resistance which is striving for democracy,
- The European Union must halt any concessions
to Tehran regime and impose comprehensive
sanctions against the mullahs.
