Temples

Scripture
Print off the flannel board figures, color, cut them out
and laminate them. Set up the figures and explain each one
and their relation to the temple. Then print off, cut out
and laminate the different pictures of ordinance. Go
through the steps of each one and explain the importance.
Finally talk about the salt lake temple and how hard it
was for the saints to build in their poverty. It is a
commandment to build temples and to attend temples
worthily. Print off, laminate and show pictures of all the
temples we can attend around the world.
Explain how our bodies are temples and that
Story
Print off and laminate the picture story. Have your child
say as much of the story as they can.
Activity
Go to temple, go through the visitor center and eat ice
cream or a picnic on a blanket outside of the temple.
Then play temple bingo and my body is a temple either at
the temple or at home. Bingo game is from golden seven
and the body is temple game is from the friend. You will
need to print of and laminate the bingo boards and cards
and the body is temple game board.
Bingo - Place the cards face down and take turns drawing
the cards and talking about which square it represents. You
can use skittles, pennies, or sticks for marking the boards. It
would be fun to go around the grounds and find little
leaves for marking the board. Later you could laminate
the leave and give it to your child as a scripture marker.
Body is Temple use the same markers and follow the
people along the roade. Talk about the good and bad
choice in the game and how they help or hurt our bodies.
