No goodbye daddy

I never thought Id see the day,

When you got up and walked away,
I dont suppose you heard me,
I was barely three.

No I love you,
There was nothing I could do,
Mommy held me tight,
Whilst you faded from my sight.

You paused on you way out,

When you finally heard my shout,
But all you did was clench your fist,
And pretended not to exist.

Before you hit the curb,

I shouted my first word,
I was on the brink of a paddy,
When I shouted daddy!.

Your head flicked around,

And without a sound,
You came and held me in your arms,
Out of the way of harm.

You kissed my hair and rubbed my back,

After Peering over at our Cadillac,
You drew in a breath and walked to the door,
I knew you werent leaving that was for sure.
