Jitney driver shot dead

A 30-year-old jitney driver was shot dead by two unidentified armed men last April 20 along M.
Dela Fuente Street Sampaloc, Manila.

The victim, Joselito Pasamonte, a resident of Daang Bakal Street, Tayuman, Tondo, Manila
sustained a lone gunshot wound at the back portion of his head and died while undergoing
medical treatment as pronounced by Dr. Stephen Marcelo, attending physician at the Ospital ng
Sampaloc.

According to Police Chief Inspector Erwin Margarejo, head of the Manila Police District-
Homicide section, the wounded victim was found inside a passenger jitney parked around 7:30
pm on April 19 by the staff of Counselor Lui Chua.

The suspects are still being sought by the authorities while efforts are still being exerted to
identify the possible witnesses on the case since people from the neighborhood refused to give
any information regarding the incident for fear of retaliation.
