10 Tips for Your Sport Speeches

 It's likely that your audience will be passionate about sport. Make your speech reflect
the fact
 Speak of the advantages of sport and how in enriches lives.
 Mention what it means to be a player or a manager or mentor.
 Appeal for funds if that is the reason the audience is gathered. Tell them you know they
will understand the need for such funds.
 If it is an awards ceremony speak of the winner/s and what they have achieved .not only
for themselves but also for their sport and for their club.
 If you are a winner express your gratitude to those who have helped you achieve your
award. Speak of what sport means in your life. Mention your opponents and their
sporting attitude.
 Take the opportunity to be motivational, to encourage more people to become involved
in sport.
 Make it short. You'll have more impact that way
 Speak of children and how they should be encouraged because they are the future of
the sport
 Speak of the challenges ahead for your sport or your club and end on a motivational
note and with a toast if applicable.

swallow it! Make sure the microphone is free-standing so your hands are free for your

 Leave them laughing. A funny incident is always popular.
 Make it short. Your audience should want to hear more not less.
