Recover Corrupted Tally Accounting Data

Tally is one of the leading accounting software in India which has many inbuilt features to protect
the data from getting corrupted. Even if data is corrupted Tally Solutions provides easy options to
recover it.

The common error message in Tally when data gets corrupted is:

“Exiting Tally,

File Damaged

File: ‘C:/Tally/Data/0005/Tr01728.519′

Size;- 43136

Possition; 41887

Char;-128 (Done 135)”

If your error similar to above then you can recover your data loosing only last few transaction
entries.

1) Start Tally and go to Company Selection Screen.

2) Now use the key combination Ctrl + Alt + R to launch the Company Rewrite utility.

3) Select the corrupt company profile (usually the one you were working last) and press Enter to
start the rewrite process.
