Waiter: Good evening sir. Here is the menu.


Customer: Good evening. It’s my first time here, what would you recommend?
Waiter: Our house specialty is chicken. You will find that most of our dishes
here are exceptionally good, but if you ask me, I must recommend
our Rosemary Chicken.
Customer: How is it prepared?
Waiter: It is marinated in a special marinade, and rubbed with garlic and dried
rosemary and oven-baked to perfection.

past tense
There are two forms of the past tense.
They are simple past and past continuous.
두 가지 형태의 과거 시제가 있다. 단순 과거와 과거 진행형이 있다.

simple past (단순 과거)


for completed actions and states
단순 과거는 이미 완성된 행동이나 형태를 말할 때 쓰인다.

Examples

Identify the simple past verb.

present tense
There are three forms of the present tense.
They are simple present, present progressive and present emphatic.
세 가지 형태의 현재 시제가 있다. 단순 현재, 현재 진행형과 현재 강조가

simple present (단순 현재)


used to point out consistent action, permanent location and general
truth.
단순 현재는 시종일관된 행동이나, 변하지 않는 장소나 일반적인 사실을
나타낼 때 쓰인다.

present emphatic (현재 강조형)
(the "did" form) – highlights the action. It is sometimes regarded as the
"did" form, used in asking questions and in making negative statements.
현재 강조형은 행동이나 동작을 강조한다. 가끔씩 질문을 묻거나, 부정의
문장에서는 “did"의 형태가 쓰인다.

Example:

1. I do play basketball. (emphatic form)


Does he play basketball? (question)
He does not play basketball. (negative statement)

future tense
There are two forms of the future tense.
They are simple future, and future perfect tense.
두 가지 형태의 미래 시제가 있다. 단순 미래, 미래 완료형이 있다.

simple future (단순 미래)


indicates action or condition that will occur or exist in the future.
단순 미래는 미래에 존재하거나 일어날 동작이나 상태를 나타낼 때 쓰인다.

future perfect tense (미래 완료형)


indicates an action or condition that will be finished in the future before
a certain time. This is a combination of the future tense of ‘have’ +
past participle.
미래 완료는 미래의 일정한 시간 전에 끝날 동작이나 상태를 나타낼 때
쓰인다. 이것은 ‘have' + 과거분사의 형태와 결합한다.
