Synopsis of my soon coming novel, INAAS AND THE ABOMINATION OF ISLAM

It is a story of an unfortunate Muslim girl who is found pregnant before marriage. She escapes
the honour killing, but she will not escape the one hundred lashes of the Shari’a that is prescribed
by the Qur’an (Sorah Al-Noor 24: 2). It is her two illegitimate children and her mother who are
made to bear the consequences of her action while being scourged by the Shari’a court. Inaas’
son is born and brought up in an orphanage whereas her daughter is raised up by her grandfather.
Inaas’ father refused to recognize her as his daughter because she was born to him from
adultery… She had never known that she had a brother until she met him in Calgary, after many
years, and fell in love with him. She eventually married him…
Although the initial events of the story began in Sudan, most of its happenings took place in
Canada. The question of Islamic Shari’a laws versus the Western laws come into a sharp focus.
Should Muslims living in the West follow their Shari’a laws they believe are divinely revealed
by Allah, or forsake them and abide by the Western laws which they believe are man-made?

It is a book without disguises. It is a refined look into the lives of Muslim women…
