CALL OF DUTY SERIES REVIEW

CALL OF DUTY 3
Sunday, 11 July 2010 – Firstly it’s always a bad idea to start a con-current franchise halfway through, onto a console which didn’t
get its predecessor (Call of Duty 2). However Call of duty 3 was I believe a release title when the Nintendo wii came out.
Coincidently one of the first FPS games to hit shelves in 2006. Four years on since I played through this title; with its rushed
controls and noticeably ported graphics from the more powerful consoles, none the less the developers had the right ideas with
the new motion controls (e.g. rowing down river was a nice touch, hey it beats random button sequences or tapping a at 200mph)
Now let’s talk about some of the specifics of this game. Actually…..wait… your probably thinking why I am I writing about a release
title which came out in 2006? Well its part of a collection about how FPS game on wii have changed over the last four years.
Graphics- Below is some screenshots of CoD3 on multiplatform consoles wii & Xbox 360. What do you think? I don’t remember
them being this bad, well, at least not at the time. Then again I didn’t have a HD console to compare the two either.

Wii Xbox 360

Just having a side by side we can see a huge graphical difference.

(Wii) Poor textures
(Wii) Crowded interface
(Wii) Frame rate issues

But wait this is not Nintendo’s fault surely? Well partially, we all know, now that the wii can achieve better graphics than this. Yes
it’s a SD console with hardware limitations, and yes we have all seen better looking games on the GameCube. But I get the interest
that this was a rushed title, for a tight release date. Oh and it shows!!!
