INITIAL TURN-ON PROCEDURE
RECHECK ALL WIRING AND INSPECT FOR PINCHED WIRES. ACCIDENTAL GROUNDS ON ANY OF THE MOTOR LEADS OR SPEED POTENTIOMETER WIRES MAY DAMAGE THE UNIT WHEN POWER IS APPLIED. ASSURE THAT POWER SUPPLY IS OF CORRECT
VOLT AGE AND AMPERAGE AS INDICATED BY THE SERIAL NUMBER PLATE ATTACHED TO THE CONTROL BOX.
TURN SPEED POTENTIOMETER TO TWO (2). SLOWL Y ADVANCE SPEED POTENTIOMETER WHILE OBSERVING THE MOTOR. IF THE MOTOR ROTATION IS INCORRECT, TURN POWER OFF AND REVERSE A+ AND A- CONNECTIONS ON THE SPEED CONTROL BOARD. (THIS STEP SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY FOR NEW MACHINES SHIPPED DIRECT FROM THE FACTORY.)
CHECK FOR SATISFACTORY OPERATION THROUGHOUT THE SPEED RANGE. IF MAXIMUM OR MINIMUM SPEED IS HIGHER OR LOWER THAN DESIRED, ADJUST THE CONTROL AS DESCRIBED IN THE FOLLOWING SECTION. IF INITIAL OPERATION IS SATISFACTORY, NO READJUSTMENTS ARE NECESSARY.

INTERNAL ADJUSTMENTS ARE PROVIDED
A. MINIMUM SPEED ("MIN")
B. MAXIMUM SPEED (MAX")
ALL ADJUSTMENTS ARE PRESET AT THE FACTORY. THE ADJUSTMENTS ARE PERMANENT; PERIODIC READJUSTMENT IS NORMALLY NOT REQUIRED.
CAUTION: WHEN MAKING RUNNING ADJUSTMENTS BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH ANY COMPONENTS EXCEPT TRIP POT ADJUSTING KNOBS. USE PLASTIC BLADE SCREW DRIVER.
NOTE: CHECK MOTOR ROTATION, BEFORE CONNECTING CHAIN. IF MOTOR IS RUNNING BACKWARDS, REVERSE LEADS ON (A+) Al AND (A-) A2.

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXTENSION TABLE
EXTENSION TABLE AND LEG ARE WRAPPED IN BROWN PAPER AND CAN BE FOUND ON THE SIDE OF THE MACHINE IN THE PACKING MATERIALS.
1. AFTER UNWRAPPING PARTS, LOCATE AND REMOVE THE TWO BUTTON HEAD SCREWS THAT ARE LOCATED AT THE END OF THE TEFLON COATED EXTENSION TABLE.
2. PLACE THE LEG ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENSION TABLE BEND AND REPLACE THE TWO SCREWS.
3. REMOVE THREE BUTTON HEAD SCREWS FROM THE ENTRY SIDE OF THE MACHINE, A TT ACH THE HINGED END OF THE EXTENSION TABLE TO THE FUSING MACHINE USING THE THREE BUTTON HEAD SCREWS. (TEFLON LIP SHOULD OVERLAP TABLE TOP.)

FUSING MACHINE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION: PLEASE DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM MAIN POWER SOURCE
BEFORE SERVICING. .
INITIAL PRESSURE SETTING - USE NUTS ON HEAD LIFTING BAR.
A. RAISE FEED - IN ENTRY SIDE OF HEAD COMPLETELY OFF THE HEAT PLATE.
B. LOWER EXIT END OF HEAD UNTIL EXIT END OF HEAD RESTS FREELY ONTO WORK PLATE. THE MACHINE IN NOW TIPPED, CREATING A "V" WITH THE PRESSURE BEING EXERTED AT THE WORK-EXIT END.
C. INSERT A SAMPLE OF THE GOODS TO BE FUSED INTO THE ENTRY END OF MACHINE. TURN ON THE UNIT TO ROTATE BELT. SAMPLE SHOULD NOT MOVE.
D. SLOWLY LOWER FEED-IN ENTRY SIDE TO THE POINT THAT THE GOODS ARE PROPELLED INTO THE MACHINE. RAISE OR LOWER EXIT END FOR DESIRED FUSING RESULTS.
NOTE:
APPLY IllGH- TEMPERATURE GREASE TO (4) FOUR FITTINGS ON THE ENDS OF THE ROLLER AXLES DAILY. FAILURE TO GREASE MACHINE WILL CAUSE BEARINGS TO SEIZE AND DAMAGE THE AXLES.
FOR LONG BELT LIFE, ALLOW COOL DOWN CYCLE TO END, BEFORE TURNING OFF POWER TO MAClllNE. THE "OFF-DELAY" FEATURE WILL ALLOW THE BELT TO CONTINUE MOVING UNTIL THE MAClllNE COOLS TO A SAFE TEMPERATURE. THE "OFF-DELAY" IS ACTIVATED BY TURNING OFF ALL THREE TOGGLE SWITCHES. SET DWELL TIME AT 55/60. MAClllNE WILL CONTINUE TO RUN FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 MINUTES.
FOR EASE IN WORK HANDLING, TEFLON SHEETS ARE AVAILABLE TO COVER ENTRY AND EXIT AREAS OF MAClllNE AND EXTENSIONS.
BELT CLEANER AND ANTISTATIC SPRAY AGENT ARE AVAILABLE. ALWAYS KEEP AN EXTRA TOP BELT AND BOTTOM COVER ON HAND.
***REMEMBER: THE LIGHTER THE PRESSURE EXERTED AT THE EXIT END, THE LONGER THE BOTTOM COVER WILL LAST. NEVER OVER-TIGHTEN THE BELT. TIllS WILL CAUSE IT TO GO OUT OF SHAPE, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TRACK AND CAUSING A PREMATURE FAILURE.
THE BELT MUST BE KEPT CLEAN OR IT WILL HAVE A SHORT LIFE SPAN. BEFORE SHUTTING OFF THE MACHINE (WHILE IT IS STILL WARM), USE A MOIST SPONGE TO DAMPEN THE RESIN AND P.S.R.'S RESIN REMOVER "RR77" TO LIFT RESIN OFF THE BELT.
NOTE:
IF YOU DO NOT CLEAN THE BELT, THE RESIN WILL COOL AND HARDEN. WHEN THE MACHINE IS RESTARTED, THE HARDENED RESIN MAY TEAR A WAY THE BELT
SURF ACE. ALL SURF ACES MUST BE KEPT AS FREE OF RESIN BUILD-UP AS POSSIBLE. FOR MORE DETAILS, PLEASE SEE "SUGGESTIONS FOR INCREASED BELT LIFE".

SUGGESTIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL FUSING
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER A QUALITY FUSE IS ACHIEVED BY APPLYING THE RIGHT COMBINATION OF TEMPERATURE, DWELL TIME, AND PRESSURE. TOO MUCH OR TOO LITTLE OF THESE INGREDIENTS WILL RESULT IN AN UNSA TISF ACTORY RESULT.
l. TURN MACHINE ON AND SET TOP THERMOSTAT TO 3200 F (1600 C) AND BOTTOM THERMOSTAT TO 3600 F (180° C).
2. SET SPEED CONTROL TO 35.
3. SET ENTRY PRESSURE SO, AS THE PART TO BE FUSED ENTERS THE FUSING MACHINE, IT CAN BE PULLED BACK WITH A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF RESISTANCE, SET EXIT PRESSURE TO FULL PRESSURE AND THEN TURN NUT ONE (1) FULL TURN CLOCKWISE TO REDUCE PRESSURE SLIGHTLY.
4. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL FUSING MACHINE REACHES TEMPERATURE WHICH IS INDICATED BY THE RED LIGHT INDICATORS FOR TOP AND BOTTOM HEAT TURNING OFF. THESE LIGHTS WILL CYCLE ON AND OFF DURING THE DAY AS THE THERMOSTAT CALLS FOR HEA T. WARM UP TIME IS APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES.
5. DESIRED FUSING METHOD IS WITH THE SELF MATERIAL ON THE BOTTOM AND THE FUSIDLE ON TOP. IF THIS MUST BE REVERSED, THEN REVERSE TEMPERATURE SETTING LISTED IN STEP ONE (1).
6. TO CHECK FUSE, FEED PART THROUGH FUSING MACHINE AND WAIT UNTIL IT HAS COOLED. TRY PEELING BACK FUSIDLE AT THE CORNERS AND CHECK STRENGTH OF BOND.
7. IF GLUE APPEARS TO BE COMING THROUGH FABRIC, TRY REDUCING PRESSURE IN SMALL INCREMENTS.
8. CHECK MATERIAL FOR SIGNS OF SCORCHING. IF FOUND, REDUCE TEMPERATURE OR INCREASE SPEED IN SMALL INCREMENTS.
PLEASE NOTE: THE ABOVE PARAMETERS ARE GUIDELINES ONLY. IF THE FUSIDLE MANUFACTURER SUPPLIES RECOMMENDED SETTINGS, PLEASE FOLLOW THEIR SUGGESTIONS. IN ADDITION, THE SETTINGS ABOVE ARE TO BE USED AS A BEGINNING ONLY, PLEASE CHECK QUALITY OF BOND BEFORE CONTINUING AND INCREASE OR DECREASE SETTING AS NECESSARY.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE SHUT DOWN AND BELT CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS BE FOLLOWED DAILY. IN ADDmON MACHINE SHOULD BE GREASED AND BOTTOM TEFLON SHOULD BE INSPECTED FOR WEAR ON A DAILY BASIS.

PROBLEM
FUSING MACIDNE TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBABLE CAUSE
SOLUTION
REDUCE FRONT PRESSURE.
FUSIBLE SHIFTS ON MATERIAL.
THERE IS TOO MUCH FRONT PRESSURE BEING EXERTED, WHICH IS AFFECTING THE PAR TS BEFORE THE RESIN HAS A CHANCE TO LIQUEFY.
FUSIBLE WRINKLES ON MATERIAL AFTER FUSING.
THE MATERIAL HAS SOME DEGREE OF ELASTICITY WHILE YOUR FUSIBLE INTERLINING DOES NOT. WHEN PRESSURE IS EXERTED THE MATERIAL WILL FLATTEN AND STRETCH DURING THE FUSING PROCESS AND THEN RELAX WHEN IT EXITS FROM THE MACHINE GIVING THE FUSIBLE A WRINKLED LOOK.
REDUCE OVERALL PRESSURE, FRONT AND REAR.
FUSIBLE DOES NOT ADHERE PROPERLY.
1. FUSIBLE INTERLINING IS NOT PROPERLY MATCHED TO THE MATERIAL.
2. IMPROPER HEAT, DWELL TIME, OR PRESSURE.
CONTACT YOUR FUSIBLE SUPPLIER FOR PROPER INTERLINING AND MACHINE SETTINGS.
GARMENT STICKS TO FUSING FLASHBACK: RESIN BLEEDS
MACHINE. THROUGH FUSIBLE OR MATERIAL.
REDUCE HEAT AND OR PRESSURE.
FUSIBLE OVERLAPS FUSIBLE SHOULD BE CUT
GARMENT PART CAUSING SMALLER THAN THE PARTS
RESIN TO COME OFF ON BELT. AND PLACED ON THEM
THE RESIN BUILDS UP ON THE PROPERLY WITHOUT ANY
BELT AND THE NEXT PIECE OVERLAP.
GETS FUSED TO THE BELT.
STATIC ELECTRICITY BUILDS RUN A SHEET OF STATIC
UP CAUSING MATERIAL TO REMOVER AVAILABLE FROM
ADHERE TO BELT. PSR THROUGH THE MACHINE.
CHECK BELT FOR BELT CLEANING PASTE IS
CLEANLINESS. AVAILABLE FROM PSR.
