 Sharing Your Message So People Will Hear
Your church or ministry has truth to share that is
unchanging. That doesn’t mean how you present
your message is unimportant. In fact if it’s not
done in a way the reflects your DNA and appeals
to those the Father has entrusted you to reach, the

The moon is made to reflect the light of the sun to

Why do some people get excited?
We’re told to praise God with our whole heart.28 The
heart is the seat of our emotions. We’re not into
emotionalism, but we have to embrace our emotions.
Why are people prayed for?
We’re told to call the Elders together when we’re sick
and the prayer of faith will make the sick person well.29
It can be physical healing, emotional support, or godly
advice you’re looking for, we make time every service
for supernatural ministry.
How long does the sermon go?
That’s a good question. You know what it means when a
preacher looks at his watch? Absolutely nothing. We will
have a ministry time after the sermon and we generally
are out before things pick up at your favorite restaurant.
What’s up with the coffee?

It’s so amazing that for some reason this season we’ve
come together with you. God knows what He’s doing
as He draws us into His family. We know we may be
doing things differently than you’ve come to expect. We
know this may be your first time in church and so it’s
taken a lot of courage for you to even sit down. Thanks
for risking with us.
While we can’t say exactly what’s going to happen on
any given Sunday, we have put this information together
to answer questions you may ask or may not even have
thought to ask. Think of these as the FAQ’s for times
we gather. Follow up the footnotes in the Bible to make
sure we’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing.
And yes, we know the Bible says a lot more than we
can fit in this pamphlet. Isn't it awesome to consider
how great He is?
Why do we worship God?
We worship God because He’s good,1 He’s worthy,2 and
He’s welcomed us to worship Him.3 It’s good for us to
worship Him, because we become what we worship...
not that we’ll be gods, but we’ll be like Him.4
How do we worship God?
We worship God in spirit and in truth,5 with reverence
and awe,6 knowing He rejoices over us with singing.7
What God finds acceptable is for us to look after those
who have no voice and to keep ourselves from being
polluted by the world.8 He cares about our attitudes as
much as our actions.9
Why do we sing?
It’s good to sing praises to our God and pleasant and
fitting to praise Him.10 We’re going to be doing it a lot in
heaven,11 so we might as well learn to enjoy Him now.
Why do people clap their hands?
There are only seven times in the Bible that people
clapping their hands are mentioned. Only once does
the Bible say we clap to praise God.12 All the other times
clapping is mentioned in derision over an enemy or to
mock an enemy.
Clapping hands is great to keep a beat and great
to praise God, but there is something powerful that
happens when we clap, knowing we are not only
praising God, but also that we’re clapping prophetically
against the enemy. It's like we mock the enemy by
choosing to praise God in spite of challenges of life.
Why are instruments used?
The Bible talks about instruments praising God.13 It
also talks about instruments praising God in Heaven.14
If you can play them, we can appreciate them. Talk to
a pastor today.
Why do people lift their hands?
There are a number of things we can do with our
hands. Our hands can be used for blessing,15 healing,16
imparting spiritual gifts,17 and to set someone apart for
ministry.18 We lift our hands to God to bless Him.
Why does everyone pray
together?
Jesus said when two or three agree about anything we
ask, it will be done.19 That’s not say we manipulate God.
It is to say that together we can experience a greater
alignment with His will.20
Do I have to give money?
No. The opportunity to give is for the ones who make
HCC their church home. The church operates only
through the donations of people. We’re told by God to
bring the full 10% of our income into the storehouse.21
Jesus agreed the tithe22 was important and Paul tells
us that under grace we’re to give even more, but we’re
not to do it because we’re guilted into it.23
Donations given in a completed offering envelop are
eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Why are some people sharing
stories?
We call those stories “testimony”. Testimony is telling
God the truth about Himself so others can hear and
be in awe.
The Bible tells us that testimony is a prophetic act.24
When we testify, it can tell us that the Father wants to
do it again now. Conversely, do you realize sometimes
we limit the Father by not talking about the good things
He’s doing? At times it’s us declaring what He’s done
that starts the next miracle. Don’t let fear stop you from
bringing blessing to another.
Why do some people speak out
encouraging words?
Prophecy is important because the Father gave it for
us to strengthen, encourage and comfort others.25
Everyone who encourages others during the time we’re
gathered together can control when they speak, so there
is not disorder.26 Everyone who wants to speak words
that strengthen, encourage or comfort others is able to
do so at an appropriate time of the service. Everyone
else will test what is said.27
