Guidelines for Bhavale Visit

The plantation site at Bhavale is about 25 kms from Thane off Thane -Nashik Road and
on the road going from Panjarpol to Pise Dam.There is no public transport available from
Thane to Bhavale. For public transport, you have to get down at Kalyan, take a S.T. bus
from Kalyan to Padagha or to Pise Dam and get down at “Sawadh Naka”.You can get
here shared auto to Lonad village which is at about 1 km. Get down on the road at
‘Lonad’ and just across the road is a board of Hariyali.

The participants should reach the site by 8 a.m.They are required to carry snacks and
water for self and wear a cap and shoes. Thy should also carry an extra carry bag to
collect plastic wastes. Umbrella may not be useful while working on hills.The hills are
not so steep!!

The activities on this site include digging pits and planting of saplings(till July end), seed
sowing, work reg construction of bunds, digging of trenches etc.After 31st July, the
activities will be mainly post-plantation care(weeding, turning soil at the roots, widening
the pits, etc) and water conservation works.

How to Reach Kalyan Phata

Once you come out of Kalyan station, ask for ICICI ATM (it’s near to the stop where Dombivili
share auto starts/ends).

From there you will get 8 seater / Share Auto for Bhiwandi and ask them to drop at Kalyan

Phata, it’s around 5kms (15-20 mins of joyous ride ).

They charge around Rs. 10/-approx per person.
