“A Drop in the Bucket”

DEFINITION:

The idiom “a drop in the bucket” means that something is so

small that it doesn’t matter much, doesn’t make much of a
difference in the whole scheme of things.

EXAMPLE: When you are fretting1 about a small problem, think

about all of the people in the world who are going through
much worse. Your problem will seem like a drop in the bucket
compared to the rest of the world.
