(Hartford, CT) ± AFT Connecticut, which represents more than 28,000 teachers
and school-related personnel, state and municipal employees, health care
professionals and higher education faculty, has endorsed Kevin Lembo for the
Democratic nomination for State Comptroller in the August 10 primary.

In making their endorsement, the union leaders said Lembo has the record and
the experience to be the state¶s Comptroller.

³Clearly this election is very important to the people of Connecticut,´ AFT

Connecticut President Sharon Palmer wrote in a letter to Lembo. ³We need
strong leadership that will help turn this State around, and your election is a
critical part of this.´

Lembo said he is grateful for the support. ³AFT members have scrutinized this
race because they have a direct interest in the state Comptroller¶s management
of their pensions and health care plans. I thank them for their confidence in my
candidacy and my experience.´
