IMPORTANT TERMS

HIBERNATE
TO BE OR BECOME INACTIVE OR DORMANT

 When we say inactive it means not moving.

 When we say dormant it means it means lacking activity, meaning it is not moving.
 So when we say hibernate, it would mean that we are still. Or this term is commonly used in people
who are sleeping or animals who “hibernate”
 These animals sleep through the winter, so what they do is they gather food while it winter is not yet
here, and they store it in order for them to have food during the winter.
 E.g. squirrels, bears

GRAVITATIONAL ATTRACTION
THE MURUAL FORCE ATTRACTION BETWEEN ALL PARTICLES OR BODIES THAT HAVE MASS

CENTRIFUGAL FORCE
AN APPARENT FORCE THAT SEEMS TO PULL A SPINNING OR ROTATING OBJECT MOVING IN A
CURVED PATH AWAY FROM THE CENTER OF ROTATION

 ILLUSTRATE

INDOLENCE
 THIS IS ANOTHER NAME FOR LAZINESS. SO WHEN PEOPLE SAY YOU ARE INDOLENT, IT
MEANS THAT YOU HAVE TO WORK HARDER TO PROVE THEM WRONG.
 This is also our weekly tip, fighting indolence, because, like working diligently, fighting indolence would
enable you to become more useful people as well as achieve more in your life later. So if your lazy all
the time, you should change that because once you get used to it, it would be hard for you to change it
once you grow old.

DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT THE FOUR SEASONS ARE?

Ask them to enumerate the four seasons.

ASK THEM IF THEY KNOW WHY SOME COUNTRIES HAVE FOUR SEASONS AND WHY SOME DON’T,
like the Philippines
 This is because of their location on the globe. Those countries in the tropic zones only have two
seasons at most, while those in the north and south experience the four seasons at different
times of the year.
 E.g. the Philippines (what are the seasons in the Philippines?)
 E.g. U.S.A., Japan, Germany (experience four seasons because they are located in the north part of
the world. They are above the equator
 E.g. Australia New Zealand, Chile (also experience 4 seasons but in a different time because they are
at the south)

ILLUSTRATE THE TILTING POSITION OF THE EARTH.

 Notice that the countries at the center of the earth all receive almost the same amount of sunlight
throughout the year, but those in the north and in the south, experience only little sunlight during a
specific time of year.
 The rotation of the earth on its axis causes day and night.
 The tilted position of the earth causes the four seasons.
