1) Do all work neatly in PENCIL!

2) You may fold your paper in half. You must have no more than two vertical
columns.

3) Number each problem.

4) Copy the original problem with any figures, and show all work step-by-step
on each line beneath the problem as modeled in class. For word problems,
copy the essential information that is needed to solve the problem.

5) Answers should be boxed on a separate line, except for graphs, number

lines, and sentences.

6) Each step should be on the line below the previous step.

For example: If the problem is: Simplify 3x – 14 if x=9

Correct Incorrect
3x – 14 if x=9 3x – 14 if x=9
3(9) – 14 3(9) – 14 = 27 – 14 = 13
27 – 14
13

7) Skip a line between problems.

8) Use a RED or GREEN ballpoint pen for correcting (not felt tip or gel pen). If
the
problem is correct, make a neat dot or star to the left of (not on top of)
the problem number. If it is incorrect, write an X over the problem number.

9) Use a straight edge for all straight lines.

10) Put your score clearly at the top of the paper in red as follows:
number of correct problems 8
total number of problems (example: 9 )
11) Keep a corrections page for all redo work. Head a separate sheet of paper
and title it “Corrections.” For each assignment, label the assignment, then
rework all incorrect problems for that assignment. Draw a red or green line
underneath that work and start the next assignment’s corrections.
