This Week In Music...

What’s Going On... August 20th, 2010

Eminem is back at the No. 1 spot on this week’s Billboard Top 200 chart after landing in the runner up position for two weeks in a row.
This is the 8th straight week that his album “Recovery” has sold above 100 thousand copies, with total sales exceeding 2 million copies.

EMI Music recently inked a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s (SCEE) music video streaming service, VidZone, which is
only available to Sony Playstation 3 users. VidZone users can now access over 1,000 videos from artists under EMI Music including
Coldplay, Katy Perry, David Guetta and more. According to an EMI spokesperson, they will also partner with VidZone to create
dedicated artist and TV channels for EMI acts; details regarding the artists have yet to be confirmed.

Rapper T.I. held a secret show this past Monday night in NYC. The show, at NYC’s glamorous Capitale, was the first full live show the
rapper performed since his release from prison late last year. For about two hours, T.I. treated the crowd to his countless hits and brought
out stars such as Mary J. Blige, Cam’ron, Keri Hilson, B.o.B, Swizz Beatz and others to perform. T.I.’s next performance is at Virgin
Mobile’s Freefest 2010 on September 25th.

VEVO is now offering a music application for the iPhone that gives the user access to over 20,000 music videos by more than 7,000
artists. The application will also offer exclusive content and allows users to share videos via Facebook and Twitter. Versions of the
application for Apple’s iPad and other mobile platforms are still in development.

Live Nation has joined forces with AEG in filing a lawsuit against several “John Does” for merchandise bootlegging before this
weekend’s OzzFest in Devore, CA. AEG attempted to get a court order earlier this week to have federal and local law enforcement
authorities seize trademark-infringement gear at the upcoming music festival. Earlier this summer Universal Music Group made a similar
move to stop merchandise bootleggers preceding a Lady Gaga concert.

Only a few weeks after the track “Repercussions” leaked on the internet, rapper/songtress Lauryn Hill debuts at No. 94 on the Hot
R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, marking her first debut as a lead artist in over a decade. The song “Repercussions” leaked the same
day Ms. Hill performed at the FESPAD Festival in Kigali, Rwanda last month, and added more fuel to the rumors of a follow-up
album. Ms. Hill will be headlining the upcoming “Rock The Bells” tour, and will be joined by Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest
and many more.

Justin Bieber and B.o.B are the latest acts added to the list of performers for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. The young pop
star and rapper are both nominated in this year’s ceremony and will take the stage along with Kanye West, Florence + the Machine,
and Drake as performers during the award show on September 12th.
