From: Keith Costello [keicostello@hotmail..com] Subject: Research Analyst (Ref No. 2608075) To: johnrattos@cancerinstitute~org.a u"

Dear Mr. Rattos:

I am highly interested in the practice of healthcare consulting. I am particularly interested in the role of a research analyst, in which I can utilize mf analytical skills to our mutual benefit.

I recently graduated from The University of Sydney, having served an internship at the International Association for World Health. During my internship, ] gained valuable knowledge of public health while helping to organize World Health Day ~ ] also participated in the day-to-day operations of a nongovernmental organization; including budget management and maintaining client relations. This position piqued my interest in research, as well as the business aspects of running an organization more efficiently.

In addition, my coursework. has enhanced my statistical analysis skills, which are very crucial to data interpretation and research, especially when analyzing problems and recommending, implementing solutions for clients within the healthcare profession.

I would like to personally help others at any time. My goal is to bring experience in health toward solving today t s healthcare problems. My skills and experience will enable me to help address these current challenges.

I am confident that I can contribute significantly to your organization. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to be included on your interviewing schedule.

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Dear all,

As most of you have already beard by now, tomorrowf Friday the 13th-niceID)

will be Illy last day at the MRI.

I have never been a big speech person and I figured that this pretty much summarises how I feel.

It is with a great deal of sadness~ that I leave these shores® as I have really enjoyed my time here at the MR) and have many fond memories.

I will especially miss the staff parties, the cake auctions" the international food festivals ... hrnmmm.; I sense a theme here, ..

Working at the MID for the past three and a half years has given me a great deal of moral satisfaction. Every morning] would come in to work with the knowledge that I was contributing in some way to a greater cause.

So, if you are ever having a really bad day, try to remember that the work you put in here, may someday save someone' s life or at least prolong it.

(Another thing that I will truly miss is harassing all of you to donate blood at the Red Cross blood bank. It really is a good cause, and you never know when you may need. it ... )

On to the happier topic of food and alcohol. ..

There is a luncheon tomorrow at 12:30 pm at the Alfred Hotel on Missenden

road (just up Dunblane street-past the Chinese Consulate®. . ,

Hey Everyone,

It is that time of year again when we host Australia's Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for Cancer Council. For those of you who have been here in previous years you will know that to raise funds on the day we hold a huge auction of all the cakes, which is heaps o.c<D fun and the person who bakes the cake that raises the most money wins a trophy.

Dust of your recipe books and get baking MRI-em. The competition is

always fierce!

Everyone is challenged to bake. fla h~ cake:~·~eT.:

Teams are challenged to out-n..· other l¢arn$.

Bakers strive to use more fruit than hae tv.:e:{:r been used before! To reach new heights of aesthetic pleasingness]

To bake a sponge taller than the Empire Sls.~ .. 8nilding®~

Why I hear you ask? Because prizes ~ aw.~ed! Yea·! Prim ... !:

The Grand Prize, the one that all seriot.··~Baken: ·s~~ ~Qf'.~is· tbe "Margaret Fulton~ Bake-off winner" trophy for the finest c.~ of the day .

Previous winners include:

Clara Monro 2004 for a flourless chocolate cake sensation that would inspire you to buy shares in Cadburys.

Eunice Knight 2005 for a Ferrero Roche Chocolate Cheese Cake which could put an end to world hunger!

Fear not.; if you think that you couldn't possibly complete with such skilled bakers there are plenty of other cake categories to enter. Just bake' your best and we'll think of an award to give it! It's that simple! (Secret hint.c, Judges don t t do taste tests ... we just vote on how pretty they look.)

All the prize winning c.akes are then auctioned off®- one by one .. Auction winners get to take their cake home. Y umyum.

All other entries .... i.e, those that aren't auctioned off are there to be eaten with a nice hot cuppa®A

The core working hours for determined for MRI are: 9:30 am and 4:00 pm.

This means that staff are expected to be at work and on duty during these hours, unless you have taken leave for this time period. This does not include your lunch break. An on-line time sheet is currently being developed to assist staff to record their hours. This will be effective from 3rd July. Staff are requested to manually record their time until the electronic time sheet \D has been provided (upon my return from holidays on 10th July).

If you have any questions please discuss with either your supervisor or myself,

• _ ~~ car bookings

Dear Staff,

Staff who require the use of the MRI car are required to book the vehicle in advancecDt rather than$ just simply collecting the keys from reception. This will ensure that MRI staff who have booked the car can collect the keys and use the vehicle at their pre .. alloted booking time. Additionally, the car is garaged in the Faculty of Nursing car park and should be returned to there. If you are unsure as to how to gain access, please ask Doris or Susan.

Your assistance in complying with these procedures is appreciated so that colleagues are not delayed or disrupted in being able to use the vehicle at their booked time.

m Everyone!

The time has come to celebrate that occasion which, for reasons unfathomable to me,. some people approach with fear and trepidation, weeping and moaning. Yes! I've turned 30! Oh, my god!

Hmm... doesn't feel any different... but it t s the perfect excuse to throw a

partyCD!

One of my friends has kindly donated their apartment for the occasion. Saturday the 18th of March at 7:30 pm

15612 Artannon Rd, Willoughby

Sorry about the short notice, I've been a little-urn-forgetful... shall we say ... Could you get back to me ASAP and let me know if you can come so that I have some idea of numbers.

Thanks James
