INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Volunteer and Voter Outreach Intern

Organizing for America is a project of the Democratic National Committee. As the


successor to the Obama campaign, Organizing for America is building on the
movement that elected President Obama by empowering communities across the
country to bring about our agenda of change. In 2008, a record number of
Americans voted. But the story of this movement is about more than just one
election, and the best way to deliver on the promise of that historic campaign is
to fight for allies across the country who will support our efforts to build a
stronger future for all of us.

Job Description: Work directly with OFA staff to contact and mobilize voters and
volunteers to further the work and mission of Organizing for America.

Position: Volunteer and Voter Outreach Intern

Reports to: Regional Field Director

Time Commitment: 15-20 hours a week. Some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities
• Conduct voter registration, vote-by-mail and voter pledge drives
• Organize and participate in voter contact activities
• Assist with data entry and database management.
• Work with OFA staff on get out the vote efforts in target districts

Qualifications
• Hard working, detail oriented, organized and responsible.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Computer literate. Experience with Votebuilder/VAN a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Must possess a strong commitment to the work and mission of
Organizing for America.
• Previous organizing or campus advocacy work a plus.

The internships are unpaid, but can be structured for the student to
receive course credit. Hours are flexible and a majority of the work will take
place at OFA office in Charlestown, MA.
