Moore’s trial will likely continue Syracuse (NCC News) -- The second throughout the week. day of trial is over for a Syracuse resident facing charges of burglary and robbery both in the first-degree. Defendant Eric Moore sat in Onondaga County Court Tuesday as victim Lissette Tejeda took the stand. Tejeda’s home at 2012 Bellevue Ave. was broken into on the morning of Aug. 19, 2008. According to Tejeda, she woke up around 3a.m. to find three men in her bedroom. Tejeda said that one of the men, who she recognized as Moore, climbed on top of her using duct-tape to restrain her arms and to cover her mouth. According to Tejeda, Moore taunted her with a gun as one of the other men went through her belongings. The men were looking for a shoebox full of money, according to Tejeda, who said she did not have knowledge of the shoebox. After Tejeda’s two small children were awoken from the altercation, Tejeda said she just wanted to get the men out of the house. According to Tejeda she offered the men $500, which she had hid in a compartment near the floor in her closet. The men took the money and left said Tejeda. Syracuse police officer, Shawn Mehlek was at the scene to collect evidence. Mehlek said he found pieces of duct tape in multiple places throughout Tejeda’s home as well as a broken window in the basement. No DNA evidence was found in the home, which may be a result of the men reportedly wearing gloves. Moore’s brother, Charles Moore pleaded guilty Thursday, Nov. 12 to a charge of attempted first-degree burglary in the same home-invasion robbery. C.
