carry 10 marks. • Select a topic for the paper of your choice out of the topics given in the syllabus. • Same topic can be taken by more than one student with prior approval of the faculty. 12/07/21 2 DIRECTIONS FOR ASSIGNMENT - 2 • Each student has to prepare a comprehensive paper on a topic of the syllabus in about 15 pages or more. Example: Value chain and value delivery system, Third party logistics, Strategic lead time etc. The paper should include the following: – Learning objectives – Introduction – Detailed subject matter with tables, figures, photographs and examples. – Applications – Advantages and disadvantages (as applicable) – Summary – Questions on the topic – 20 multi-choice questions with 4 choices and correct 12/07/21 3 answer. DIRECTIONS FOR ASSIGNMENT - 3 • In addition to the above paper, a case study is to be prepared either on the related topic of the paper or on any other topic of the syllabus. Case study should be of a company or an organization concerning to supply chain management covering following aspects: company history, product profile, company’s growth & position in the industry, challenges faced, problems and issues (industry and company), data, analysis of data, strategy and action taken, findings & recommendations. • Soft copy as well as hard copy of the paper is to be submitted by August 17, 2010 and of the case study by August 30, 2010 12/07/21 4 DIRECTIONS FOR ASSIGNMENT - 4 • Evaluation will be done taking into consideration the quality of work of both the paper and case study. • Selected case studies will be presented in the class and will have additional weighage. • Class representative will collect the topics of the papers as well as case study and give them to the Professor (Dr. J P Saxena) latest by July 30, 2010.
