Bloody Anchors!

So after a brief time with the crew hunting down the (non-existant)
doctors of Hydra we went out for a sail, upwind in 25 knots.

Our overnight stop was on the island of Dhokos, where we arrived as

dusk was falling. Like most of the week, I was too busy to get the
camera out.

Most of the flotilla were there rafted up, our space was about 6”
wider than the boat, backing up against the anchor was nerve wracking.

Each of the nationalities cooked an approximation of a national dish.

Fun was had listening to music, chatting and eating. Although by 2am
the skippers were knackered, and getting bored of hiding dangerous
toys (mast climbing kit, outboard motor pull-starts etc.). Some even
resorted to removing the battery isolator to stop the music (myself
included).

Today started badly, in pulling the boat out of the raft, the anchor
dragged and caught someone elses anchor chain. Nearly an hour of
shouting at french people and cajoling ensued until Joe, our resident
Californian surfer came out in his diving kit and helped me use the
rescue hook.

Motoring weather today - 43 degrees and no wind, but we’re hoping it

will pick up soon.
Heading off to Plaka tonight.
