TOMMY

There he is waiting, for his dad, like so many times before

He believes so much, wants so much, for his dad not to ignore
It's always the same, wasted moments in his life, always he feels the blame
Tommy would like, so much, for it to be different, but it is always the same

So many Tommy's in the world, abandoned, to parents self indulgence

They're left ed to their own means, on how to settle their grievance
For it is important to most, to understand why, to comprehend
So to have peace with one's self, to finally forget and mend

So Tommy, pull yourself up by your boot straps to attention

Inform the abandoning parent in question
Demand they give, for once and all, an answer, how they feel towards you
And regardless what their answer, that it be honest and true

Then Tommy, you know and you go on from there

But let this be a lesson, for you to always care
For some day if you have children, as most people do
Tommy, make sure your children, know how important they are to you
