Oracle 9i Client Installation Manual

1. Insert the Oracle 9i CD and “Oracle9i Client – Autorun” will pop up or run setup.exe
from the cd and the welcome (next) window will pop up. On this window click
Install/Deinstall Products.

2. Click Next on the welcome window.

3. On the Oracle Universal Installer: File Locations window, you can either accept the
oracle name and oracle path or you can modify the path to where you want to install the
oracle. Click Next to proceed with installation.

4. Click on the Runtime checkbox and then click on Next.

5. The summary window lists all the Oracle components that will be installed in your
computer. Click Install to start the installation.

6. The installation progress window will show the installation progress.

7. Oracle will allow you to configure Oracle database connectivity and automatically
brings up the configuration window. We will leave this to OUDW Utility. You may
miss seeing this window if your computer is fast or you are not watching it. Just wait
until it brings up the next window (step 8) without clicking on anything.

8. Click CANCEL on the Oracle Net Configuration Assistant Welcome window.

9. If you see this window, click YES:
10. The following error message window will pop up. Click OK on the error message.

10. This should take you back to the Configuration window. Notice the canceled status
and the message in the details. This is ok. Click Next.
11. At the end of installation window click on Exit and then on Yes when it asks if you
are sure.
