Every day, science is making new discoveries and improving present technologies to
prolong life, cure illness and prevent diseases. Life is Godƞs gift and only He can give it. So with
that, we should do everything in our power to promote life. Every human has a natural instinct
of self preservation but we also have a tendency to abuse ourselves, to push our body to the
limit; not considering the consequences it would bring us. Most times, going through surgery or
a disease is life changing. It changes our outlook. Itƞs when we stop to think about everything
through and to change our ways in order to improve our health.

The Gallbladder is a small pear shaped organ located beneath the liver. It stores bile;
the greenish yellow digestive fluid produced by the liver. When bile is needed, the gallbladder
contracts, pushing bile through the lower portion of the bile duct into the small intestine. In
humans, the loss of the gallbladder is usually easily tolerated. Disorders such as gallstones and
tumors can easily obstruct the flow of bile through the bile ducts. Occasionally, an injury during
gallbladder surgery may cause an obstruction or the duct may be narrowed as it passes through
the common bile duct into the duodenum, some stones may be too large to pass and may
cause an obstruction. This condition is termed as Choledocholithiasis which is the most common
digestive disease. About 15% of the population will develop stones is the common bile duct.

A case study is used to have an in-depth and organized information about a particular
topic, in our case, about a disease. It provides a systemic way of looking at events, collecting
data and analyzing information and reporting the results. In exchange we will thoroughly
understand the disease, its pathology, the relevance of the meds given, importance of lab
results and physical examination and how we can relate it to the disease and the like.
