    Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is one of the most famous mantras dedicated to Lord Shiva.

    It is
    chanted during prayers and pujas. The chant starting with OM Trayambakam consists of four
    lines and it asks Shiva – the one who nourishes human beings to liberate from bondage. In this
    Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, the mantra is chanted nine times.

    OM Trayambakam Yajamahe
    Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
    Urvarukamiva Bandhanam
    Mrityor Mukshiya Mamritat

    We worship the three-eyed Lord Shiva who is full of sweet fragrance and nourishes human
    beings. May he liberate me from bondage.
