Harry Harshaw Hope center

5pm-11pm
Today was an easy day that did not have to many problems it was just time consuming the upgrade

process from the current workstations to Windows XP was done on three of the machines. This proved to

be resource consuming and that resource being time.

Issues that I encountered where typical and expected. Since the machines where running the

operating systems as listed below:

Hope 5 = Windows 2000

Hope 3 = Windows ME

Hope 4 = Windows 98

The printer drivers where not compatible with windows XP this problem was easily solved with

going to the printer vendors web site and down loading the XP driver and loading it.

The Anti- virus software associated with each PC was Norton/Systematic 2001. Ts is not

compatible with Windows XP either so each machine needed Norton/Systematic 2003 Enterprise edition

which the hope center is licensed for and currently has on hand.

The Linksys Instant Broadband EtherFast Cable/DSL Firewall Router with 4-Port Switch/VPN

Endpoint was causing connectivity issues which made updating the PCs through the Microsoft Windows

update page impossible. This is not fixable at this time but I have decided to go out and purchase a new

router.
