Are there small scale applications (e.g. handheld type devices, off grid applications, etc.

)
utilizing your energy source?

Due to the unpredictability of wind and the size usually needed to effectively manipulate the

wind, handheld wind generators are quite rare. Over the past few years however, two main

designs have been created, and are now available on the market for purchase. The HYmini, and

the Kinesis wind and solar charger are both extremely similar, in design and appearance. They

both have three options to store energy in the device for later use, wind, solar, or an outlet. This

triple option is to give users flexibility, if it is a windless or cloudy day, and to become more

efficient when both renewable sources can be used. One drawback with the HYmini, is that it

must have a minimum of 9mph wind to charge. These two chargers also have the same method

for storing and distributing the power. They each can distribute their power to 5v machines, such

as ipods, cell phones, and gameboys, and come with several types of cords to hook the device up

to the charger. One interesting side use for the Hymini is the fact that someone could plug it into

a wall socket and then additionally plugging it into another device, charging it without the need

for another cord. Both the Kinesis and the HYmini have been advertised as extremely portable

and perfect for activities such as biking, hiking, and camping. As technology increases, and the

natural resources of the Earth drop, there will be a major increase in products such as this, which

will be advertised to be able to carry around with you anywhere, providing all the power you

need for small electronics.
