Calcium oxide (CaO) commonly known as
Quick Lime
Manufacturing Process:

• Calcium oxide is usually made by the thermal decomposition


of materials such as limestone.

• This is accomplished by heating the material to above


825 degree centigrade, a process called calcination or lime-
burning.

• To liberate a molecule of carbon dioxide(CO2); leaving


quicklime.
Uses:
• In mortar

• As a lime flux (To remove impurities)

• In smelting

• In water treatment plant etc..,

• Being a limestone trader, its very easy to
handle this commodity too
