Grimm Named “Young Gun” by National Republican Congressional Committee

The momentum keeps building for the Congressional campaign of Michael Grimm. Today,
the National Republican Congressional Committee (“NRCC”) named Grimm a “Young Gun.”

This is the premiere level of the NRCC’s three-tiered Young Guns program. By advancing to
the program's top tier, Grimm has proven his ability to build a winning campaign and achieve
substantial fundraising goals.

“Michael Grimm has proven that he’s ready to take on Democrat incumbent Michael McMahon,
a Washington insider who has blindly supported his party’s failed agenda of job-killing policies
and reckless spending,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Michael’s campaign is
a symbol of the growing momentum behind Republican candidates in New York and across
the country. As Democrats and their party bosses continue to force their big-government, big-
spending policies onto the backs of hard-working families, leaders like Michael Grimm will
continue to present a clear alternative to a Democrat majority that unapologetically spends too
much, borrows too much and taxes too much.”

It’s only the latest feather in the cap for Grimm, a former FBI agent and Marine combat
veteran. The news comes in the wake of reports that the Democratic Congressional Campaign
Committee (“DCCC”) has added McMahon to their “Frontline Program,” an initiative targeted
towards vulnerable Democrat incumbents.

“I’m proud to be named a ‘Young Gun,’ and I will certainly be gunning for Rep. McMahon this
November,” Grimm said. “As more families hear our message of reforming Washington, our
campaign continues to gain strength. My opponent is running scared. He knows that his
attacks are futile because his record of raising taxes, spending money and killing our economy
speaks for itself.”

Michael Grimm is the Republican and Conservative party nominee for the U.S. House of
Representatives in New York’s 13th Congressional District. The district includes all of Staten
Island and the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bath Beach, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights
and Gravesend.
