The Malta Intelligent Energy Managment Agency, together with a consortium of multiple partners from
various Govermnetal and private entities, will be organizing the next IEE conference on 13th October. This
event is aimed at the tourism industry in order to improve the energy performance and strategic position of
hotels.

Intelligent Energy Europe, Previously, Malta Enterprise issued an ERDF call related for the improvement of
hotels’ energy consumption. Such a call was addressed at carrying out energy audits for these establishments.
It is a known fact that the hospitality industry contributes to 25% of our country's GDP and that tourists make
use of our water and electricty supplies profusely. In this light MIEMA, in collaboration with IEE has collected a
number of energy audits in the aim of understanding the typical charactersitics of the estabilshments in
question. The data, collected from hotels and English teaching schools, has been compiled into a spread sheet
to enhance this process.

MIEMA has issued a call for the dissemination and compilation these audits for local hotels. This data
dates to less than one year ago. It is encouraged that those involved in RES and Eco-industry, would scrutinize
these audits and propose the best solutions. This data aids the understanding of the industry’s needs and the
use of the most adequate solutions.

In the light of the latest ERDF calls from the Malta Tourism Authority and the Malta Enterprise, the
availability of such data can aid the application procedures. Any calculations and estimations can reduce the
gap between these organizations and hotel representatives.

The most relevant calculations and estimations will be presented to the hospitality industry during this
conference. Moreover, a number of governmental representatives from the MRA, MTA, OPM, MRRA and the
Malta Enterprise will be participating. If you are interested in attending, then you are gently requested to send a
