For betterment of progeny

A view of the railway station backside

Where our vision seldom slides
Of people answering nature’s call
Without noticing their personal fall
Admitting when poked with chagrin
Our habitual standards of hygiene
A phenomenon recurring in propinquity
Reminds me of a brutal irony
Shadowing our growing economy
Of inequalities pervading our land
A hollow pride we take in
In ignoring our dustbin
Mars our ambitious prospect
Renders our development claims suspect
We must therefore reprioritize our aims
Besmeared by glamorous fames
To identify our unforgivable felony
To correct it unmindful of money
For betterment of our progeny
