Rock Collecting at the Loretto Motherhouse

During the Loretto Circle retreat at the Motherhouse this past April, several of the SIUE 
CNSU students decided that they would like to return to the Motherhouse for a long 
weekend in August to do some volunteer work. Grace Kenny and Jason Esker (both of 
whom have just completed their year as Jesuit Volunteers) organized a trip to the 
Motherhouse for eight SIUE CNSU graduates and current students for August 12–15. 
In addition to visiting sisters, this group assisted Anthony Mary Sartorius and Peg 
Jacobs in collecting and transporting rocks from a distant pasture on the property to 
Badin Pond. The rocks will be used to further shore up the water line along the pond 
where erosion is occurring.
