Indigestion occurs when the digestive system fails to function
properly. It may have various underlying symptoms like gastritis or ulcer but most of the
time it is just a result of having eaten too much. Having said this, it is obvious that a
condition such as indigestion can actually be prevented.

Basically, what causes indigestion are the food we eat and how we eat them. That means
in order for you to avoid having an upset stomach, you have to learn what types of foods

Eating is one of the best gifts we have ever received. Aside from being a way of fueling
and refueling the body it is also gives us so much pleasure. Try to enjoy every bite

your fiber intake by eating more fruits and vegetables. Whole wheat grains and cereals
are also rich in fiber. Fiber keeps your intestinal tract healthy too, making digestion easy
for you.

Water is most essential when it comes to digestion because it helps flush out waste from
inside the body. It makes your bowel movement a lot easier since it acts as a laxative.
People who have constipation problems should especially drink at least eight glasses of
water every day to improve on digestion.

Other ways to improve digestion is by getting rid of stress, since experts say stress can be
a main cause for some digestive problems. You can manage stress through regular
exercise. Also, studies have found that there is a link between indigestion and lack of
sleep, so make sure to it that you get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day. If you combine all
these steps together, a healthy diet, exercise and rest, you are in a sure way to improve
your digestion.
