1.

Pre implementation phase: pre implementation planning helps to identify the operational
needs, business drivers, strategic plans and other factors that will define the scope nad objective
of the ERP solution. During this process:
[i] expectations for benefits realisation
[ii] magnitude of change
[iii] change ownership
[iv] process redesign and functionality delivery options are identified
2. Analysis phase: this phase evaluates the organisational base and that forms the foundation
for (i) process redesign (ii) the system build & change management

A system build determines the software components of the ERP system and how these
components interact with each other. Business process are analysed to understand the current
conditions, functional and technical requirements are reviewed to determine the system build
needs, cultural and workforce skill evaluation are performed to identify work force transaction
requirements.

3. Design phase:- this phase incorporates direction setting information from the pre
implementation phase and the base line information from the analysis phase to create new
designs for a desired future state
4. Construction phase :- this phase takes the products from the designed processes to create
tangible operational processes and information system support. As the process model
begins to crystallize, the process model and the information system build are evaluated
against each other.
5. Implementation phase :- this phase prepares for the final ERP solutions deployment, final
changes are made to business processes, policies and procedures and system builds to
prepare for a go-live. Go – live oocurs when the ERP system is used within the organisation
as the system to perform all the duties and processes as determined by the design phase.
Once a go-live occurs a post implementation audit is performed to measure the
effectiveness of the ERP solution in meeting its goals and objectives.

A measurement mechanism must be in place to measure the result of the implementation phase
against the aims and goals of the pre implementation phase.
